Winning Roulette Strategies
Roulette is one of the most popular and oldest casino games in land-based and online casinos. Millions of people worldwide play this game to win big money. If you play wisely and minimize losses, you can have peace of mind and streamline profits. Here are some strategies to consider winning at roulette.
- Understand inside and outside bets.
- Use a progressive D’Alembert System.
- Follow the Paroli System If You are a Beginner
- Leverage the Labouchere System
- Learn the Martingale System, Andrucci System, the Fibonacci Strategy
Understand Inside and Outside Bets
Inside bets are specific numbers on the table. For example, when you bet 1 AED on a number, it will pay out 35:1 if the ball hits/lands on that number. You have 6 adjacent numbers to split your bet.
On the other hand, outside bets are less risky, with a small payout of 1:1 or 2:1. We recommend placing outside bets because they increase the odds of winning. Examples of outside bets include red/black, even/odd, high/low, dozens, and columns.
An outside bet covers more outcomes. For instance, you will have almost a 50% chance of winning when you bet on red or black. Likewise, when you bet on low (1 to 18) or high (19 to 36), you will have a good probability of winning, slightly over 50%. So, these odds are better than inside bets on specific numbers because they don’t pose a great risk.
D’Alembert System – A Progressive Strategy
D’ Alembert System is a progressive strategy focusing on achieving equilibrium with even-money bets. The concept of D’Alembert’s strategy for roulette is that over time, you will win the same number of bets as you lose. Here is how you can use this system:
- Decide your base unit. For example, 5 AED or 2% of your total bankroll
- Start with one unit and Adjust after wins and losses
For example, your base unit is 5 AED, and you start with a 5 AED bet. Your next bet becomes 10 AED if you lose. On the other hand, if you win, you decrease your next bet to 5 AED again. So, the fundamental principle of this strategy is to continue adjusting your bets based on your wins and losses.
Use the Paroli System If You are a Beginner
If you are a new roulette player, you can leverage the Paroli System because it is simple to understand. Actually, you won’t need to learn complex mathematical concepts or perform intricate calculations. Unlike the Martingale system, which is a negative progression strategy, the Paroli is a positive progression. The basic rule is:
“Increase your bet after each win.”
In addition, the system allows you to reset your bet after 3 consecutive wins, putting limits on losses. You won’t experience a massive loss if you come across a losing streak. Therefore, always start with a base unit, which is 2% of your total bankroll. Double your bet after a win for the next round. Revert to the base unit if you lose. For example, your base unit is 10 AED. You bet 10 AED initially. You will bet 20 AEX next if you win. However, if you lose, it will go back to 10 AED and repeat.
The Martingale System
The Martingale strategy at roulette allows you to experience eventual profit. It is simple to understand and implement and enables you to recoup your previous losses. But this system has a few drawbacks that you must keep in mind to prevent losing at roulette.
- Your bets can increase rapidly if you have a long losing streak.
- Many online casinos impose maximum betting limits, preventing players from doubling indefinitely.
- This strategy does not change roulette’s inherent odds.
Use this method when you have a good bankroll, focus on short-term play, and control your emotions. Moreover, set loss limits and stick to them. Remember, the Martingale system is not foolproof and does not challenge the rules of mathematics and probability.
Labouchere System or Split Martingale
Labouchere System, also known as the Cancellation System or Split Martingale Strategy, allows you to create a custom number sequence that dictates your bets. You must decide on the number sequence before playing.
The choice of numbers depends on your preferences. For example, 1 -3 -4 -2 -1 -2. Once you have decided on the numbers’ sequence, the next step is to calculate the bet amount. You can do this by adding the leftmost and the rightmost numbers in your line. So, this can help you determine your initial bet. For example, 1 + 2 = 3 is your first bet.
If you win, you will cross off the leftmost and rightmost numbers from the line, calculate the new numbers, and add them to your next bet. You can repeat this process after each win.
On the other hand, if you lose, you will add the amount you just bet to the right end of the line. You won’t cross off any numbers. Remember to calculate the new rightmost and leftmost numbers for your next bet. Let me give you an example so you can better understand how to use the Labouchere System. Let’s say you use the line (1 -3 -4 -2 -1 -2). So, you:
Bet Number | Calculation | Result | Outcome |
Bet 1 | 1 + 2 | 3 | Win |
Bet 2 | 1 + 3 | 4 | Win |
Bet 3 | 3 + 2 | 5 | Win |
Bet 4 | 4 + 1 | 5 | Loss |
Bet 5 | 4 + 5 | 9 | Win |
Bet 6 | 2 + 1 | 3 | Win |
In this strategy, you add the numbers at the front and end of the line to find the size of your next bet. When you win, you cross out numbers and continue working on the smaller line. If you lose, you add the amount of your last bet to the end of the line. And this continues until you have crossed out all numbers in the line.
Andrucci System – Works with Roulette Patterns
Andrucci System usually analyzes patterns in roulette and focuses on finding whether specific numbers are “hot” or favorable. Bet approximately 30 to 37 times on random event bets, such as red/black, odd/even, 1 to 18, or 19 to 36.
Track the winning numbers during these bets, and make sure you identify those that appear most frequently. Moreover, make straight bets on one of these numbers and repeat the bet on the same number for 30 to 37 more bets.
The Fibonacci Strategy
Fibonacci is a famous strategy used by players to win at roulette. But this is not a simple system, meaning you must have a good understanding of the Fibonacci series. Basically, it is a type of sequence or series where each number is the sum of the two previous numbers. Here is an example:
“0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21 and so on”
But how can you use this sequence or the concept behind it to win at roulette? Again, let me give you an example so you better understand how this works. You start with a base unit, let’s say 10 AED. Next, you bet the sum of two previous/preceding bets, such as 10 AED + 10 AED = 20 AED.
Move two steps back in the sequence if you win. However, move one step forward if you lose. Likewise, you repeat the process until you read the end of the sequence. Because Fibonacci is a mathematical sequence with a structured progression, you can increase the odds of winning, but you must also manage your bankroll to avoid problems.
